Crafting Inspiration Starts Here: Unboxing Series: Mini Alphabet Dies

Welcome to my stamp and die-cut unboxing series! I’m so excited to share these amazing tools with you from my earlier unboxing post.  In each post for this series, I will highlight one of the five stamp and die cut sets or the mini alphabet die cuts. In this series, you will find examples of how to use these different sets.  I will include the products I used as well as tutorials and tips.

Today, we’re diving into the mini alphabet die cuts from Stampin’ Up.  This die cut may be small, but they will make quite the statement on your cards. These dies include multiples of highly used letters and diacritic symbols for French and German words. This variety means you can use these dies to create all-occasion or celebratory sentiments for banners, cards, and other paper crafts. Cut out all the letters in the same color paper for a classic design. Or die cut the letters using different colored papers for bright themed cards! If you just can’t find the right sentiment, the Mini Alphabet Dies will help you create the words you want to say.

Mini alphabet die cuts are a versatile tool for adding a personal, handmade touch to any project. Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just starting, these tiny letters can elevate your work in exciting ways. Here are some creative ideas to inspire you:

  1. Personalized Greeting Cards
Spell out names, heartfelt messages, or custom phrases to make your cards extra special. Pair them with colorful backgrounds or embellishments for a unique look.
  2. Scrapbooking Titles and Captions
Highlight memories with mini alphabet titles. Use them to label photos, dates, or short captions that enhance the story you’re telling.
  3. DIY Party Décor
Create banners, cake toppers, or party favors. Mix and match fonts and colors to fit any theme!
  4. Custom Journals
Add inspirational quotes, headings, or labels to organize your journal pages beautifully.
  5. Gift Wrapping
Use the die cuts to personalize gift tags or spell out names directly on wrapped presents.
  6. Home Décor Projects
Incorporate mini alphabet die cuts into shadow boxes, framed artwork, or seasonal décor pieces.

Today I am going to highlight two different ways of using this mini alphabet die cut.

Greeting Card: Merry Christmas

For this card I was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest using the Stampin’ Up triangle set from a few years ago.  I loved how she laid out the triangles and had the letters on top of them.  Original card:

I cut out squares in alternating red and green and put a letter in each square to spell out M E R R Y.  I embossed the background and double matted it with red and green paper.  I heat embossed CHRISTMAS in white on a green strip and added a glittery holly sticker to finish off the card.  I love it’s simplistic, yet festive look.  My take on the original:

Supplies Used: Stampin Up Mini Alphabet die cuts, Stampin Up Snowflake Sky embossing folder, Stampin Up Real Red cardstock, Stampin Up Garden Green cardstock, Lawn Fawn white embossing powder, Lawn Fawn Simply Winter Sentiments stamp, Big Shot, VersaMark, Heat Tool, and Xyron 150 sticker maker.

Scrapbooking Title

I scrapbook using 8 ½ x 11 paper.  I scrapbook 8 ½ x 11 because I find it easier to get the albums to store my completed layouts in.  I can also find various sizes of binders to suit my needs.  I have learned how to adapt 12×12 scrapbook sketches to fit my 8 ½ x 11 pages.  Today I used Pagemaps March 2024 8 ½ x 11 vertical sketch for my layout.

Supplies Used: Stampin Up Mini Alphabet die cuts, CTMH Secret Garden 12×12 paper, Anna Griffin Empress, and Xyron 250 sticker maker.

Experiment with materials like cardstock, glitter paper, or foil to bring your mini alphabet die cuts to life!
